These deliciously soft and chewy egg free sugar cookies are buttery and tender like a bakery fresh cookie. Leave them simply dressed in a light coat of sugar, or add sprinkles or frosting to fit your next event or party.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature or softened slightly
  • 2 Tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder (NOT baking soda)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar, for coating
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350F.

  2. Cream together butter, sugar, milk, and vanilla in large bowl.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

  4. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, and stir until combined.

  5. Roll dough into tablespoon size balls. Roll in sugar, and flatten slightly with hands.

     FOR CUT OUT COOKIES: Cover and chill dough in refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Roll out chilled dough to 1/8-1/4″ thickness onto lightly floured surface. 

    Cut out shapes with cookie cutters. Press one side in sugar or sprinkles, if desired. Re-roll any remaining dough for additional cutouts. Bake time is the same as original recipe.

  6. Bake at 350F for 8-9 minutes. Allow to cool on the pan for at least 5 minutes before transferring to wire cooling rack.
